_About us

Who are we?

In the words of legendary American photographer Ansel Adams: A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words. The same holds true for photographers.

We purposefully avoid the use of peacock descriptive terms, such as 'professional', 'experienced', 'qualified' and the like. Photography is as much of an art as it is the application (and love, for far too many of us :) ) of cutting-edge optical and electronic hardware. The latter is dealt with under 'Equipment' - as for the former, one should let his or her pictures do the talking. In any case - to satisfy the curious:

Carlo works/studies full-time as a biochemist at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands - and has been thrilled with "the art" ever since the age of 10 when he was allowed to 'play' with his father's Zeiss Ikon Voigtlander SLR.
While he enjoys shooting in all manner of settings, he is abnormally :) fond of fast telephoto lenses and the highly compressed perspective - and narrow DOF - they provide, whether in the context of a concert, wedding, posed modeling shoot, candid 'snipes' at events, or otherwise.

Elisabeth works full-time in the small world of community development in Hoogvliet, Rotterdam. Her grandmother was the first person to ever put a camera in her hands when she was a little kid. No fancy equiment though, just a point-and-shoot, and it was from that moment onwards that she dreamt about having her very own “fancy camera”.
Liz’s specialty involves the photographic capture of concerts, landscapes and wildlife – including nude male specimens of the human species.... :)
